Overview

As a Purchasing/Buyer/Expeditor Supervisor, you'll be at the helm of our organization's procurement process, a role that's central to our success. Your primary responsibilities include expertly managing and coordinating all facets of acquiring goods and services, securing the best value for every penny spent. You'll be a pivotal team member, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and vendors to craft procurement solutions that strike the perfect balance between cost-effectiveness and unwavering quality standards.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to optimize purchasing activities and achieve cost savings while meeting quality and delivery requirements.
  2. Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs, forecast demand, and develop procurement plans accordingly.
  3. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery performance.
  4. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and contractual agreements with the approval of the Site Manager.
  5. Monitor and analyze market trends, supplier performance, and product specifications to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  6. Manage the purchase order process, ensuring accurate and timely purchase order creation, issuance, and tracking.
  7. Oversee the supplier evaluation and qualification process, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  8. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procurement policies, such as ethical sourcing, sustainability, and diversity initiatives.
  9. Resolve supplier-related issues, including disputes, quality concerns, delivery delays, and payment discrepancies.
  10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the procurement process.

Qualifications

  1. Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  3. Proficiency in cost analysis and procurement forecasting.
  4. Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
  5. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  7. Proficiency in using procurement software and systems.
  8. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  10. Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  11. Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  12. Proven experience as a Purchasing/Buyer/Expeditor Supervisor or in a similar procurement role.
  13. In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, procedures, and best practices.
  14. Familiarity with sourcing and procurement tools and technologies.
  15. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and procurement software.
  16. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
