Overview
Responsibilities
Lead, develop, and mentor the Maintenance team, establishing clear objectives, training programs, and performance standards to build a high-performing department.
Ensure maintenance coverage across 2x10hr shift operations, including on-call support for critical equipment issues.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive maintenance strategies, integrating preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
Oversee maintenance of automated production equipment, including PLC-controlled systems, robotics, CNC machinery, servo drives, and automated inspection systems.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for mechanical, electrical, and automation equipment failures; develop and implement corrective actions.
Utilize and optimize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for scheduling, tracking, and reporting on work orders, equipment history, and KPIs.
Drive adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies such as remote monitoring, IoT-enabled sensors, and data-driven predictive maintenance tools.
Manage the maintenance budget, including spare parts inventory, critical spares planning, and capital equipment upgrades.
Partner with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to prioritize maintenance activities that minimize downtime and support customer delivery commitments.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, environmental, and safety standards.
Implement electrical safety programs, lockout/tagout procedures, and arc flash hazard analysis for high-voltage transformer environments.
Coordinate with external vendors, OEMs, and contractors for specialized maintenance, equipment installations, and upgrades.
Lead reliability improvement initiatives to increase Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and reduce Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, using Lean and Six Sigma principles to improve uptime, efficiency, and cost savings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CMRP, CRL) are a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent).
- Strong technical expertise in automated systems, robotics, servo systems, HMIs, SCADA, sensors, VFDs, and motion control systems.
- Knowledge of electrical schematics, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding (MIG/TIG/spot), and thermoplastic processing equipment.
- Experience with CMMS, predictive maintenance technologies, and Lean manufacturing principles. Exposure to Industry 4.0/E-maintenance systems preferred.
- Proven ability to lead TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) programs and drive OEE improvements.
