The Opportunity

We are seeking a tactical Business Development Executive to drive our commercial consigner expansion, including fleet operators, financial services companies, and automakers. In this role, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of sustainable transportation, leveraging your reputation and network to deepen Plug’s relationships with key accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for the commercial consigner channel, focusing on the acquisition of major accounts.
  • Partner with the executive team to set and achieve ambitious EV supply targets that align with Plug’s mission and business objectives.
  • Source, develop, and maintain relationships with remarketers in order to foster recognition within the automotive industry as Plug grows.
  • Lead high-level negotiations with commercial consigners, focusing on their specific needs in liquidating electric vehicles.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for commercial accounts, ensuring a seamless integration of our services into their operations and a superior customer experience from the initial sale through ongoing engagement.

Qualifications

  • An established presence in the remarketing industry, ideally a member of IARA.
  • Desire to produce, develop proposals, close deals, and tactically run a channel.
  • A passion for driving change in the EV market and aligning with Plug's mission.
  • 6+ years of experience in business development in the automotive industry.
  • Expert-level executive communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast and ambiguous startup environment.
  • Ability to work full-time in-office in Santa Monica and travel 20% of the time.

Compensation and Benefits

  • On-target earnings $125,000 - $150,000
  • Base salary $100,000 - $125,000
  • Equity: 0.01%-0.2%
  • Health, dental and vision coverage
  • On-site parking
  • Unlimited PTO

This full-time position is based in Santa Monica, CA. There is no opportunity for this role to be remote or hybrid. Relocation assistance may be provided.
