Summary:

Powin is seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Market Analyst to join our team. Reporting to the VP of Market Development as part of the Revenue team, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing market trends, competitive landscapes, and pricing strategies within the large-scale battery storage industry. This position requires a strong understanding of market size data, competitive offerings, contract structures, and market share estimations.

Job Details:

• Collect, analyze, and interpret market size data from sources such as S&P Global and Wood Mackenzie
• Identify and report on trends, growth opportunities, and potential risks within the battery storage market
• Conduct comprehensive competitive analysis of major players in the industry, including Integrators and EPC providers
• Prepare detailed reports comparing the company's offerings with those of competitors
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of competitive pricing, regularly updating to ensure accuracy and relevance
• Estimate the company's market share across different geographies and channels, analyzing data to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis)
• Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on market trends, competitive positioning, and pricing strategies
• Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and product development teams to align strategies based on market insights
• Generate fundamental analysis, market insights, and leverage expertise in electricity markets to support product development and evolution
• Simplify and automate reporting, data audits, and other data-driven activities; build scalable solutions for self-service by stakeholders
• Support business with time-critical and tactical data analyses
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all market data and analysis, utilizing advanced data analytics tools and techniques to enhance the quality of market insights
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in market analysis, preferably within the energy storage or renewable energy sectors
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, PowerBI, or similar software
• Strong proficiency in SQL with the ability to pull and aggregate data from relational databases and technologies (e.g., Postgres, Redshift)
• Professional experience and proficiency using Python and related frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flask, Dash)
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of machine learning and statistical models and methods
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with industry reports and data from S&P Global, Wood Mackenzie or similar source

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in competitive analysis and strategic planning
• Knowledge of battery storage technologies and market dynamics
• Understanding of contract structures for both equipment sales and installation, and LTSA agreements in the energy sector
• Ability to thrive in a highly ambiguous, fast-paced, and rapidly changing environment
• Ability to lead large projects and drive through to completion
• Background in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a similar technical field
