The Research Software Engineer (RSE) will be a part of the Technology team reporting to the CTO. The RSE will need to be smart, hard working, and curious. Curiosity in this position will, above all, be encouraged and fostered as we believe it leads to true Innovation rather than the “cookie cutter” iterations.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with multiple organizations to help gather requirements and be the technical voice in the room.
- Collaborate with the most Senior Engineers and Scientists.
- Mentor/manage junior team members on software development best practices
- Participate in R&D and exploration of new technologies, frameworks, best practices and techniques to continuously improve our products and services
- Optimize and carry out spikes and projects to MVPs in Research and Innovation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Applied Science discipline preferred
- 5+ years experience with C++/C# and .NET framework
- 2+ years experience with GPU programming – ex. OpenGL, CUDA, Vulkan etc..
- 2+ years Entity framework experience
- 2+ years PostgreSQL experience and TimescaleDB
- 2+ years experience with React highly preferred
- 2+ years experience managing Software Engineers
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong technical understanding of linear and non-linear systems
- Strong Math skills, specifically statistical modeling and optimizations (ex. Stochastic).
- Proven success working with product management, contributing to high-level product strategy
- Ability to dream and innovate and carry research endeavors from conception to MVP.
- Oil and Gas or Energy Industry is preferred but not required
- Currently in Denver or able to relocate in 4 weeks
- Able to work in the office at least 3 days / week
- Salary range: $175,000 - $210,000 annual base
- Hybrid work environment - Must come into the office at least 3 days a week
