Position Overview:

This intern position will provide support to the Marketing and Communications team (within the Chief Business Officer organization) in Greer, SC. You will learn and gain practical experience in a hands-on environment while providing support to client groups at the site and will be in an environment where you can have a greater impact and earn a competitive salary during the program.

About the Role – You will:

  • As a Marketing and Communications Intern, you will:
  • Gain practical experience in a hands-on environment.
  • Support the development and execution of marketing and communications campaigns and initiatives, including digital marketing, external content creation and internal communications.
  • Assist in competitor analysis and identifying emerging trends to inform strategy.
  • Help prepare marketing materials such as presentations, email campaigns, and working on the Proterra intranet.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing and communications efforts with broader organizational goals.
  • Contribute to brand awareness efforts by assisting with event planning, internal brand campaigns and public relations initiatives.
  • Have opportunities to propose new ideas or improvement concepts.
  • Work with a mentor who will support and guide you during your internship assignment.

Your Experience Includes:

  • Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; familiarity with design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and marketing analytics is a bonus.
    • Physical Demands
      • May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations.
      • Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
      • Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.
      • Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items.
      • Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion.
    • Environmental Demands
      • Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions.
      • Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment.
      • Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.

Additional Details

  • Location: This is a full-time (i.e. 40hr/w), paid internship opportunity based in Greer, South Carolina, at Proterra's Powered One. Please note that this position does not offer additional benefits (e.g., healthcare, paid time off, etc.)
  • Duration: This internship will run from May 2025 – July 2025.
