Description:

We are seeking a motivated Process Development Engineer for our Solid-State Integration team. You will be playing a vital role in developing processes to build and scale up soild-state cells assembly. You will also support process documentation, troubleshooting, training and mentorship of team members.

Responsibilities:

  • In this role, you will be responsible for running state-of-the art process to build all-solid-state batteries.

  • You will get hands-on experience of developing and optimizing new processes for all-solid-state battery assembly.

  • In this role, you will be actively communicating findings and suggesting process improvements to stakeholders.

  • This role will provide opportunities to work with the metrology team and their tools to improve data collection and measurement accuracy.

  • In this role, you will get a chance to develop new methods for cell teardown and failure analysis.

  • This role will provide opportunities for characterizing physical and electrochemical properties of battery materials and components using analytical methods.

  • Collaborate with colleagues from multiple fields to ensure that process specifications and device performance goals are met.

Basic Qualifications and skills:

  • Master's degree in chemical engineering, materials science, or a related technical field and 1+ years of experience or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3+ years' experience in a research and development role

  • Hands-on research experience in device assembly from a relevant industry

  • Familiarity with electrochemistry or energy storage-related technologies

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and the ability to utilize pivot tables and generate useful reports

This position is required to perform these above essential duties and responsibilities onsite at our QS offices.

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role is between $107,200 and $163,500, and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
