We are looking for a ELECTRO-MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN/TECHNOLOGIST to join our core team to drive laboratory experimental operation, maintenance, and execution of novel mechanical and fluid systems. This is a full-time, benefits eligible contract role that reports into our engineering organization. The initial term is 6 months. The position includes the possibility for contract renewal/extension or full-time employment.
Quidnet Energy is pioneering a breakthrough technology to solve one of the key challenges of the 21st century: energy storage. Quidnet utilizes proven techniques to provide ultra-low-cost electricity storage at grid scale, enabling power to be delivered to the grid when it is needed most.
As Electro-mechanial Technician/Technologist You Will

- Operate and maintain all laboratory equipment and facilities to maximize uptime and throughput.
- Assist engineers with experimental design, setup, and maintenance tasks.
- Prepare equipment and laboratory test systems, execute testing plans, and clean up afterwards.
- Install equipment and perform diagnostic tests and troubleshooting.
- Review vendor materials quotations, purchase equipment and supplies, and recommend selections based on technical merit along with price and delivery.
- Record and document laboratory data.
- Maintain a tidy and well-organized work environment that adheres to industry regulations.
- Adhere to Quidnet’s safety culture, and support company initiatives as required.
- Associates degree, Bachelors degree, or trade school preferred, but not required.
- A minimum of two years' experience as a mechanical elctrical engineer or technician in a related industry.
- Knowledge of mechanical designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs. (CAD experience a plus.)
- Broad technical hands-on experience with electro-mechanical and measurement equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate mechanical, electrical, and hydaulic systems.
- Demonstrated ability to assist in the assembly, testing, operation, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems.
- Good communication skills, general computer proficiency. (Some coding ability preferred.)
- Ability to work with and willingness troubleshoot data acquisition systems.
- Great organizational and time management abilities.
- The candidate must be able to:
- Lift object up to 25 pounds above the shoulder
- Withstand repetitive motion
- Be able to see screens, detect color coding, and read fine print
- Safely work with fluid systems under moderate pressures (<1000 psi).
- The candidate must be able to work full-time in the lab located in Houston, Texas (BW8 & I-10)
