Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated equity research analyst/associate to join our Commercial Intelligence team in India. You will work on high-impact research covering U.S. and international upstream E&Ps, with a focus on valuation, forecasting, and strategic insights. Ideal candidates bring impressive financial modeling skills, proficiency with Python and VBA, and significant working knowledge of the upstream oil and gas industry.
Responsibilities
  • Cover a subset of global or U.S. E&P companies, through valuation, modeling, and strategic analysis.
  • Maintain and increment financial and forecasting models using SEC filings, investor presentations, earnings call transcripts, press releases, and public/private datasets.
  • Aggregate and analyze large operational and financial datasets to identify trends, value assets and companies, and characterize investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and data science teams to improve proprietary databases and workflows involving well-level performance, operational velocity metrics, and financial KPIs.
  • Write and publish research featuring quantitative analysis, strategic insights, and actionable takeaways.
  • Use Enverus Prism and other internal tools to produce analysis that reflects best-in-class technical and financial integration.
  • Engage with clients on calls or in-person to discuss insights, market dynamics, and strategic themes.
  • Work with Intelligence and Customer Success teams to maintain strong client relationships and refine deliverables based on feedback.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance product outputs and contribute to roadmap priorities.
Performance Objectives
  • Work under limited supervision to manage project timelines and expectations. Receives general instruction on managing scope and priorities.
  • Applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through work experience and advanced education.
  • Problems faced can be complex and require prioritization.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.
  • Has a can-do attitude along with a deep sense of curiosity.
Candidate Profile
  • 2–6 years of experience, ideally in upstream O&G, equity research, or energy finance.
  • Strong financial modeling skills in Excel; Python and VBA proficiency preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree required; CFA or progress toward designation preferred.
  • Solid understanding of E&P economics and capital allocation frameworks.
  • Professional-level English and strong communication skills.
  • Proactive self-starter with strong attention to detail and intellectual curiosity.
