At Reach, we are delivering technologies to enable the long-range, wireless transfer of power. We believe wireless energy can be as liberating for power systems as WiFi was for data systems, and are busy creating the energy infrastructure that will one day replace the aging electrical grid. This position will be the first hire on Reach’s system testing team. At the intersection of multiple teams and a central piece of Reach’s engineering development and testing strategy, this role will be expected to build out the company’s testing function and test team. It will set up company best practices for testing, deployments in the field, and initial support.

Build and manage the company’s system testing team.

Develop comprehensive test plans and coordinate their execution, with quantification in mind.

Identify relevant tools and build processes for the system testing team.

Work with project management and other engineering teams to plan the effort and establish timelines.

Be the point of contact for test reports and bug analysis.

Plan and coordinate field tests and compile comprehensive test reports.

Be the first point of contact for customers’ escalations.

5-10 years of experience as a system testing engineer or equivalent job.

Experience as a team lead or manager.

Proficient with testing in several of the following fields: embedded firmware, backend, electrical engineering and radio frequencies.

Expert in compiling and executing system level test plans.

Proficient with at least one Quality Management System (QMS).

Comfortable with command line and at least one scripting language (ex. python, bash, …)

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and analyzing logs.

Familiarity with bench testing tools: oscilloscopes, power supply.

Familiarity with regulation standards (ex. FCC, CE, …)

Excellent communication.

Experience with a full development cycle, from prototyping to manufacturing.

Experience with BLE systems or other wireless transfer technology.

Experience in customer-facing tech support.

Experience in software test automation.

Experience in Linux, Docker, or Kubernetes.
