Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.

Electrical Designer

Redwood Materials is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Designer to join our Infrastructure Development team. These roles are at the center of our activities focused on creating a sustainable circular economy for lithium-ion batteries by transforming recycled materials into battery materials for new lithium-ion battery production.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Perform Electrical assignments with general direction and minimal supervision.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively with others toward design and technical solutions.
  • Assist in developing solutions for projects in all phases.
  • Assist in production of construction drawings for low voltage (up to 600V) power distribution, one-line diagrams lighting, lighting control, electrical circuits, raceway, grounding, data and communications.
  • Assist in performing photometric studies using lighting design software.
  • Drives multi-discipline collaboration on the development of equipment general arrangements, one-line diagrams, tie-in lists and material takeoffs.
  • Develop process improvements/ workflows/ templates to increase design productivity.
  • Assist in code analysis of NEC, IECC, and other applicable NFPA standards.
  • Learn, advance, and increase quality through construction observation / administration.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience
  • Highly motivated and proactive
  • Well-organized and detailed oriented
  • Excellent team communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of SKM or equivalent too

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
