Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.

HR Coordinator

As an HR Coordinator at Redwood Materials, you will play a role in supporting HR functions within the People Team to ensure the efficient operation of our workforce. You will work closely with the HR team and other departments to deliver high-quality HR services and programs that align with our company values and objectives.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Support the maintenance of employee records and files throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • New Hire Onboarding: Support the setup of employees in systems, establish employee file and assist with all mandatory paperwork and onboarding tasks
  • Perform administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, including job changes, resignations, terminations, and leaves of absence
  • Support the creation of documentation for job, status and compensation changes
  • Support the management of unemployment claims, employment verification & workers compensation claims to ensure accurate and timely responses.
  • Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews
  • Respond to inquiries submitted to the HR Team. Loop in appropriate functional specialist and escalate questions as necessary
  • Provide support to HR Business Partners in conducting investigations and addressing employee inquiries and concerns.
  • Support the HR function to design and deliver targeted, scalable, and strategic HR solutions to the business.
  • Maintain an understanding of HR legal and compliance obligations ensuring regulatory adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws such as EEO, FMLA, ADA, DOL, FLSA, and analogous regulatory mandates.
  • Collaborate with HR team members on projects or programs of varying scale and complexity to drive enhancements across the HR function.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • 1-2 years of HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting, or experience data and record management.
  • Preferred: Applied knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Proven capacity to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to follow standard processes and maintain accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, characterized by clarity and conciseness.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with HRIS systems and data management (UKG, Workday etc.)

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
