Senior Payroll Specialist
Redwood Materials is looking for a knowledgeable Senior Payroll Specialist who is accurate, efficient and works diligently. They need to be good with numbers and can be trusted with sensitive information. They must be organized and able to handle their workload in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Processing bi-weekly payroll using our payroll software. This includes wages for hours worked from our timeclock, reimbursements, bonuses and holiday pay consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Updating employees’ profiles using our payroll software to accurately reflect deductions for medical/dental/vision insurance plans and 401k.
- Uploading data to our 401k provider on a bi-weekly basis.
- Addressing questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors.
- Administering voucher invoices accurately and ensure vendors get paid within terms.
- Communicating with vendors and colleagues to resolve invoice issues.
Desired Qualifications:
- 2+ years working on payroll accounts and proven experience as a payroll specialist.
- Deep understanding of hourly and non-exempt payroll complexities, including timecards, shift differentials, overtime, leaves, etc.
- Knowledge of legislation and regulations of the payroll field.
- Experience with sales/use tax rules is a big plus but not mandatory.
- Proficient in MS Office and Workday.
- Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality.
- Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- BA/BS in business, accounting or relevant field is mandatory (or equivalent years of experience).

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
