Senior Civil Engineering Designer
We are seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Civil Engineering Designer to support the site development of our pilot and commercial-scale battery recycling facilities. As part of the Infrastructure Development team, you will work closely with Professional Engineers to design, plan, and optimize site layouts, utility systems, and infrastructure for cutting-edge battery recycling operations.
Responsibilities will include:
- Designing site layouts, grading, paving, striping, and underground utility distribution drawings in the latest version of AutoCAD Civil 3D under the supervision of Licensed Civil Engineers.
- Conduct field reconnaissance to measure and document existing conditions for brownfield and greenfield developments.
- Participate in project planning meetings and cross-functional design reviews.
- Apply creative problem-solving skills to propose solutions beyond standard approaches.
- Collaborate with supervisors to address complex design challenges, selecting appropriate methods and techniques.
Desired Qualifications:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or Civil Technology degree is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in civil engineering design, ideally involving site development or brownfield industrial sites.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D including: Plan and Profile development, pipe networks, pressure networks, grading functions, and surface development
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations relevant to site development is a plus.
- Practical field experience in active construction settings is a plus.
- Proficiency in basic surveying techniques, including the ability to set control points and collect accurate data using total stations, GPS, or other surveying equipment is preferred.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
