The Director of Warehouse and Internal Distribution is a senior leadership role at Redwood Materials, responsible for setting strategic direction and overseeing warehouse operations across multiple campus locations. This leader will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, optimizing internal distribution processes, and enabling sustainable, efficient logistics to support manufacturing success. Reporting to the Vice President of Manufacturing, the Director will ensure warehouse and internal distribution strategies align with broader company objectives. This role will lead cross-functional initiatives, contribute to major capital projects, and foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and innovation.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, loading, and distribution, ensuring seamless and accurate material flow aligned with business objectives.
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for order fulfillment, inventory management, and transportation to optimize efficiency and responsiveness across warehouse and distribution functions.
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other critical safety standards, while fostering a proactive safety culture that prioritizes employee well-being and regulatory adherence.
- Establish, monitor, and leverage key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead asset management strategies, including maintenance planning and capital investment decisions, to support both immediate operational needs and long-term growth.
- Direct profit planning, budgeting, and cost control initiatives to optimize logistics and transportation expenses while supporting financial targets.
- Champion workforce planning, talent acquisition, training, and performance management to build and maintain a high-performing, engaged team.
- Drive a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement to consistently meet production goals efficiently and cost-effectively.
Desired Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience leading teams at the director level in similar environments; experience in chemical warehousing is strongly preferred. Proven ability to inspire, develop, and manage high-performing teams
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Chemical or Engineering preferred.
- Experience in Responsible Care programs and process safety management preferred.
- Adept at driving results and making effective decisions amidst evolving opportunities and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth scaling organization.
- Demonstrated success in attracting, developing, and retaining talent, with a strong track record of leading workforce planning and talent development initiatives to ensure effective recruitment, performance management, and employee growth.
- Proven success driving performance through metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies, with strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) for reporting and data analysis.
- Excellent communicator, able to interpret and clearly present complex data and strategic insights across all organizational levels and to external partner

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
