Position Summary

The Technical Program Manager – Body Assembly leads strategic and operational initiatives across body manufacturing processes within an automotive production environment. This role focuses on program execution, budget forecasting, ERP and digital tool integration, training programs, and long-term planning. The position ensures successful launch and optimization of body assembly operations while collaborating cross-functionally to drive performance, efficiency, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination with cross-functional teams to deliver projects within defined scope, quality, timeline, and budget requirements
  • Develop and manage program schedules, identify risks, and communicate objectives to key stakeholders
  • Drive execution of initiatives related to manufacturing readiness and production launch
  • Manage stakeholder relationships by establishing clear communication processes and providing regular updates on project status
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership regarding program progress, risks, and key milestones
  • Partner with engineering teams to estimate work efforts, define project milestones, and allocate resources
  • Provide oversight of technical activities related to body assembly processes
  • Resolve technical and operational challenges within project scope
  • Track and report program performance to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget
  • Identify, assess, and escalate risks that may impact project success
  • Utilize data and metrics to drive informed decision-making
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and performance
  • Ensure adherence to established processes, standards, and methodologies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in program or project management within an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in body assembly or body-in-white (BIW) processes
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional programs in a production or manufacturing setting
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
  • Experience with data analysis, KPI tracking, and executive-level reporting
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and ability to work closely with engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, Six Sigma, or similar project management certifications
  • Experience with ERP systems and digital manufacturing tools
  • Background supporting new product launches
