Controls Engineer

Overview:
Aegis Worldwide is curently partnered with a medical devices, test strips, quality controls, and information manufacturer.
Responsibilities
- Assess, design, upgrade, and maintain control and automation systems to improve production efficiency, safety, and equipment reliability.
- Design and modify electrical and pneumatic control systems, including creating and updating schematics using CAD software.
- Program, support, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, servo, VFD, DC drive, and robotic systems used in automated manufacturing equipment.
- Oversee and support scheduled maintenance activities to ensure proper documentation, compliance, and equipment performance.
- Analyze process performance using SPC and operational metrics to identify continuous improvement opportunities, scrap reduction, and production rate increases.
- Support validation and qualification activities in compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve equipment, product, and process issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- 1–3 years of controls or systems engineering experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Hands-on experience with electronics, software, and controls programming; commissioning and improving industrial equipment preferred.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, motor drives (servo, VFD, DC), robotics, and automated manufacturing systems.
- Strong ability to read, draft, and revise electrical, pneumatic, and control documentation.
- Experience in medical device or other regulated industries preferred, with a strong commitment to quality and compliance.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations, quality, and external vendors.
