Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support the manufacturing of precision medical device components. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC equipment to produce high-quality parts that meet strict regulatory and quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience working with tight tolerances and thrives in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (mills, lathes, or grinders)
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and minor program edits (G & M code)
- Machine complex components to tight tolerances (±0.0005" or better)
- Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, comparators, CMM if applicable)
- Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, FDA, and GMP standards
- Perform in-process inspections and document results per quality procedures
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment following 5S standards
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet production goals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience (medical device or regulated industry strongly preferred)
- Proficiency with Fanuc or similar controls
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Experience working with materials such as stainless steel, titanium, cobalt chrome, or plastics
- Familiarity with ERP/MES systems is a plus
