Position Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations within a chemical production facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role leads frontline production teams, maintains compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The position operates on a rotating shift schedule, alternating between AM and PM shifts, and follows a 4-days-on, 3-days-off work structure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet output, quality, and safety targets.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of operators and technicians across rotating shifts.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance standards.
  • Monitor production processes and equipment performance; troubleshoot operational issues in real time.
  • Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and incident documentation.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to optimize plant performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Conduct shift handoffs to ensure smooth transitions between AM and PM rotations.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
  • Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • Rotating shifts: alternating between AM and PM schedules (e.g., days to nights rotation).
  • 4 days on / 3 days off schedule.
  • Work in a chemical manufacturing environment with exposure to industrial equipment, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
  • Must be available for occasional overtime, emergency coverage, or schedule adjustments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; chemical manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required.
  • Strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-safety-risk environment.

Physical Requirements:
