Position: Contract Lab Technician
Location: St. Charles, IL
Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM | Friday | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Compensation: $24/hour
A global, family-owned industrial manufacturer is seeking a Contract Lab Technician to support their lab operations at a modern U.S. production facility. This is a 6-month assignment offering hands-on experience in product development, lab testing, and manufacturing support within a stable and team-oriented environment.

Position Overview
This role focuses on supporting lab operations, producing product samples, and ensuring consistent quality across testing and development processes. You will work with specialized equipment and follow structured procedures to support ongoing production and R&D efforts.
Responsibilities include:
• Setting up and operating lab extruders
• Producing samples through extrusion, grinding, and spraying processes
• Following standard formulations and documenting results
• Monitoring equipment performance and reporting any issues
• Cleaning, maintaining, and preparing lab equipment
• Supporting metallic bonding and specialty sample preparation (as needed)
• Maintaining a safe and organized lab environment
Training & Development
Structured onboarding and hands-on training will be provided. This role is ideal for someone looking to build technical lab experience in a manufacturing setting while developing skills in equipment operation, quality control, and formulation processes.
Ideal Background
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (Chemistry or related field preferred)
• 1+ year of lab or manufacturing experience (entry-level considered with degree)
• Experience with lab equipment, extrusion, or sample preparation is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and quality mindset
• Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
