Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Food Packaging Manufacturing | Full-Time | Onsite

Are you passionate about building world-class safety cultures and driving environmental compliance in a manufacturing environment? We're seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead all safety and environmental initiatives for a large food packaging manufacturing facility.

This leadership role is approximately 75% Safety and 25% Environmental and serves as a key member of the plant leadership team, partnering closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, HR, and Plant Leadership to promote a safe, compliant, and continuously improving workplace.

What You'll Do

  • Lead all Environmental, Health & Safety programs for the facility.
  • Develop and execute site safety strategy and drive a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local regulations.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations while implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage environmental reporting, permitting, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Oversee workers' compensation processes and return-to-work programs.
  • Coordinate emergency response planning and preparedness initiatives.
  • Lead employee safety training and ongoing compliance education.
  • Facilitate Safety Committee meetings and partner with leadership to achieve operational excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety performance and reduce risk.
  • Supervise and mentor the site's EHS Coordinator.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field with 5+ years of EHS leadership experience in manufacturing; OR
  • 10+ years of directly applicable manufacturing EHS experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience leading Environmental, Health & Safety programs within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, food packaging, flexible packaging, plastics, blown film, or a similar manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance programs.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to influence employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement experience with measurable results.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred

  • Blown film manufacturing experience.
  • Title V Air Permit experience.
  • Large Quantity Generator (LQG) experience.
  • EPA compliance experience.
  • GMP and FDA-regulated manufacturing experience.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHP.
