Rivian is hiring many more people to help build electric vehicles in the Bloomington-Normal area. Team members with many different backgrounds and work experience are learning about building EVs and growing meaningful careers in EV production. We commit to supporting your skill development and providing opportunities for growth. This role is located in Normal IL and will report directly to a Group Leader of shop area.
Responsibilities

Working together with your team, assemble or attach vehicle components, which includes cross-training and performing work as a Team Member in each department (Stamping, Drive Unit, Battery, Body, GA, Paint, EOL and LOC).
\nPosition or align components and parts with vehicles on the assembly line
\nPut together parts to build more complex units
\nRead and understand assembly instructions and follow established production procedures
\nGather all material and equipment needed for your role
\nCheck output to ensure highest quality
\nMaintain equipment in good condition
\nKeep records of production quantities and time required
\nReport issues, malfunctions, or defective parts
\nApply problem-solving skills to maintain a high standard-of-quality
\nProduce to the Standard Operating Procedures, and clearly identify irregularities that may cause damage or inefficiency
\nSuggest alternatives or improvements to processes for your team and other teams

Qualifications

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
\n- Proficient in English: Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English in a manufacturing setting, including reading and interpreting work instructions, safety guidelines, and equipment manuals. \n
Passion for team and individual success
\nHigh School degree (or GED) preferred
\nAbility to stand 8-12 hours per day and lift up to 50 lbs (We strive to promote comfort and ergonomics for team members.)
\nSome manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
\n
Physical Demands

Ability to alternate between standing and walking 8-12 hours per day
\nAbility to climb steps to access platforms and workstations
\nManual dexterity to grasp and manipulate materials
\nAble to position one’s body to access and assemble materials (bending squatting/stooping/kneeling/reaching below waist and above shoulder).
