Role Summary
The Staff Ergonomic Engineer is a key collaborator in conducting ergonomic assessments and driving continuous improvement projects for new and existing processes. This role will support development and implementation of diverse programs to ensure a safe workplace. The ideal profile will have a background in ergonomics and industrial engineering in an automotive setting which includes developing strategies and long-term plans to reduce risk and hazards in the workplace, working closely with leadership and management to ensure compliance in local, state, federal, country specific regulations, and maintaining communication with all employees.
Responsibilities

- Develop and implementing policies and procedures for the workplace \n
- Leading teams and SMEs on the identify and development of programs, standards, risk assessments, metrics related to occupational safety – Ergonomics, Return to Work, Injury/Illness investigation to improve work conditions \n
- Develop strategies for reduction of risk and hazards in the workplace \n
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement safety initiatives and drive continuous improvement in safety performance \n
- Working with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and standards \n
- Influence workplace design to reduce workplace risks. \n
- Develop KPI’s and reporting occupational safety performance to senior managers and executives \n
- Staying up to do date on industry trends and best practice on safety management \n
Qualifications
- \n
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering related to Manufacturing/ Industrial/ Mechanical/ Biomedical/ Human Factors (required); \n
- Minimum of 7+ years related work experience \n
- CAD/Simulations software (Process simulate, Catia, Delmia, 3DSSPP) \n
- Incident management software \n
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point. \n
- Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence) \n
- Prior Occupational Safety experience, knowledge on Safety, Ergonomics, IH, WC, Return to Work. \n
- Experience developing, implementing, training, and maintaining EHS corporate programs/systems \n
- Knowledge of OSHA, Federal Regulations, EU Regulations \n
- Knowledge on the use of ANSI, ISO, USCAR, etc. \n
- Knowledge of different risk assessments and interpretation of results \n
- Innovative thinking to perform evaluation and solutions on high level complex systems. \n
- Able to communicate with different functional groups with diverse interests and backgrounds. \n
- Familiarity with data and root cause analysis techniques. \n
- Understanding of incident and injury prevention programs. \n
- Ability to work varied hours with regular travel (domestic), required. \n
- Must be self-motivated with good communication skills. \n
- Must be organized and able to prioritize, and document \n
- Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-cultural, team-oriented environment. \n
- Travel expectation will be 30% domestically \n
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. \n
- The employee is regularly required to walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. \n
- The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. \n
