Role Summary

We are currently seeking a Senior Vehicle Quality Engineer, Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate technical excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Customer Quality Manager in Normal, IL. 


Responsibilities

  • Experience/Knowledge in 12V Systems, Harness, ADAS and Infotainment
  • Experience/Knowledge working with data acquisition systems and signal-based diagnosis (Vector tools like CANalyzer, CANoe, etc)
  • Work from the Customer(s) perspective, driving quality and execution of products, through Key Performance Indicators and Specifications.
  • Lead quality issue investigation from both manufacturing plant and from field. Track, analyze, and resolve, ensuring root cause is robust and verify corrective actions are effective
  • Coordinate input from internal/external customers to better understand customer’s need and/or perception to improve audit plan
  • Lead continuous improvement projects and supports investigation of new technologies to improve overall quality performance
  • Support warranty part return tear-down and technical analysis
  • Support field incident scrambles and investigation
  • Cultivate a synchronized relationship with cross-functional stakeholders including Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service and Quality with the objective of driving issues to a resolution.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams for resolution of complex and/or chronic issues.
  • Consolidate inputs and material from cross-functional teams to create presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate progress and status at all leadership levels.
  • Define and implement inspection metrics, constantly striving for higher quality.
  • Support vehicle audits
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Advocating as the "voice of the customer" demanding the highest quality expectations from the organization.
  • Executing the duties of the position such that the focus is largely proactive versus reactive.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or in any Technical focus
  • At least 5 years of relevant development experience in Quality
  • Outstanding technical problem-solving abilities based in a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive mindset and strong work ethic
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Strong technical understanding of the fundamentals of High-voltage and Powertrain Systems
  • Systems approach to engineering product development, including demonstrated ability to bring together teams from different engineering disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience of engineering problem solving
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to drive decisions using data and metrics
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Goal-oriented self-starter and motivator
  • Previous direct involvement in product launch for mass production
  • Experience with DFMEA, 8D, DOE other structured evaluation and problem-solving methodologies
  • Experience managing Large Data sets.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, Databricks, JIRA
  • Six Sigma / Black Belt
  • Technical Master’s degree is highly desired
  • OEM experience
