Role Summary
Rivian is seeking a seasoned leader who desires the challenge of a new business and the excitement of building something from the ground up. You will be at the core of developing and scaling Rivian's sales and customer engagement strategy through our retail footprint. You are the ultimate brand ambassador and accountable for creating a highly productive environment in which customers have a meaningful and memorable experience, employees are motivated and engaged, and the business performs and thrives. You understand the importance of engaging with and building the Rivian community through our retail locations and will partner with programming teams to design, implement, and execute local events and activations.

You will partner with location Managers to ensure effective implementation of brand culture and business initiatives at the site and regional level. - \nEnsure that the Rivian retail customer experience is best-in-class across your region: authentic, engaging, educational and aligned with Rivian’s core values and culture \n \n
- \nDeploy Rivian’s Sales and Customer Engagement strategy throughout your region, generating demand and connecting with the broader community \n \n
- \nExport Rivian’s culture and values to our retail locations, teams, and customers, and ensure they are reflected in our operations, across all managers and team members \n \n
- \nUphold the operational framework, best practices, and playbooks to deliver the best experience possible to our customers and team \n \n
- \nLead all Retail Managers and locations in your region to ensure they are driving positive results, both financially and culturally \n \n
- \nDevelop Managers within your region as best-in-class leaders, while ensuring they are actively developing their teams \n \n
- \nOwn, track, and deliver on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring the location teams are invested in the related company-wide strategic objectives \n \n
- \nCollaborate with the Retail Operations and Programming teams to plan and execute activations, events, and strategies that drive brand awareness, traffic, product education, lead generation, demand generation, retention, and conversion \n \n
- \nProactively recruit talent into our retail locations, ensuring a strong talent pipeline \n \n
- \nEnsure all retail teams within your region are invested in retail, sales and customer engagement, and company-wide strategic and brand objectives \n \n
- \nClearly and consistently communicate goals to your teams, linking these goals to individual location and employee performance \n \n
- \nEstablish a constructive feedback loop between field teams and HQ, regularly recaping the Voice of Field and Voice of Customer: \n \n
- \nInform retail leadership and the business through regular reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and feedback from the field \n \n
- \nAnalyze and evaluate reports and data to identify ways to maximize sales and bolster KPI’s \n \n
- \nRegularly visit and spend time in all locations within your region, as well as in your market, to evaluate and enhance performance, identify trends, and network \n \n
- \nManage operations in alignment with the financial plan, including revenue plan, payroll budget, and overall store P&L \n \n
- \nLead the implementation of processes that allow retail associates to seamlessly move a customer through the ownership funnel with the help of the digital commerce platform and CRM tools (including accessories and branded merchandise sales) \n \n
- \nPartner with retail Managers to ensure the staffing model is aligned with demand / traffic, to maximize efficiency and deliver a best-in-class customer experience \n \n
- \nEnsure all locations within your region maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations as well as Rivian company policy and procedures \n \n
- \nHave a keen sense for visual merchandising and store cleanliness and relentlessly uphold retail presentation standards, ensuring our Retail locations always look and feel premium \n \n
- \nCoach and assist Managers with all fiscal responsibilities, including staffing, budgets, P&L and managing payroll \n \n
- \nAct as a liaison and connection between the retail locations, Managers, their teams, and the HQ teams \n \n
- \nSupport new location openings, working closely with the retail HQ team to execute the site turnover, product load-in, visual merchandising, recruiting, hiring, training and onboarding and all other opening activities as needed \n \n
- \nEffectively provide feedback to any team member, on any task, to maintain successful operations of the store and uphold a premium customer experience \n \n
- \nPartner with the local team leads and HQ team to create and facilitate regionalized marketing activations, programs and events focused on engaging with and building the Rivian community through our retail locations \n \n
- \nSupport various community events, site openings, remodels, pop-ups, and special events as needed \n \n
- \nPitch and implement special projects aimed to drive continuous improvement across the organization \n \n
- \nTake on additional projects, duties and assignments as required and/or by request from the retail leadership \n \n
Qualifications
- \n
- \n8+ years in retail leadership, including multi-unit management, preferably in a Direct-to-Consumer business model \n \n
- \nProven ability leading and developing a team of high-level retail managers \n \n
- \nAt least 21 years of age \n \n
- \nHigh School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred \n \n
- \nAbility to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays; ability and willingness to travel up to 75% based on business needs \n \n
- \nExtensive experience with P&L, POS and CRM software \n \n
- \nExpertise in human resources, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, payroll, and performance management \n \n
- \nMust have a valid driver’s license in the state of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle (or state that you are commuting daily to/from) and possess an exceptional driving record; If driver’s license isn’t in the appropriate state, you must be eligible to obtain one within the first 60 days of employment \n \n
- \nAbility to obtain and maintain local sales licenses if applicable in your state \n \n

Physical Requirements

- \nWillingness to work in various working conditions including being in a full service retail center or unpredictable weather conditions \n \n
- \nPhysical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks (sitting up to 2 or more hours at a time, standing for up to 8 or more hours a day, walking, bending, kneeling, laying, twisting, carrying, reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs). \n \n

Pay Disclosure
\nSalary Range for California Based Applicants: $150,000 to $173,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums. \n |
