Role Summary

In this position you shall develop and maintain the end-to-end validation plan of Rivian’s Charging & Energy Products.


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Software and Hardware Engineering teams to understand test requirements.
  • Develop test procedures defining specific test setup instructions and execution.
  • Develop custom test fixtures to support new to market products.
  • Provide direction to lab personnel (both internal and external) in setting up and executing validation tests.
  • Work with multiple external lab partners to setup, execute, and monitor testing.
  • Participate in design reviews, requirement reviews, DFMEAs, PFMEAs and Hazard Analyses.
  • Create summary reports for all tests conducted and provide data analytics from the data collected during testing.
  • Log Jira tickets for and manage to resolution potential software and hardware defects.
  • Support hands on technical root cause analysis and resolution of issues found during testing.
  • Ensure data fidelity from executed tests and lead the refinement of data acquisition.
  • Lead tear down analysis, and the post-test-processing of hardware at end-of-test.
  • Use Linux Commands to perform inspections and checkouts of devices under test.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading automotive or similar validation efforts.
  • Experience in test planning and execution from program inception to final validation signoff.
  • Software Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, Linux.
  • Strong knowledge of fixture design, fabrication methods, and test equipment.
  • Previous experience in a role requiring test plan development and test execution, debugging, and root cause analysis.
  • Hands on approach to testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Electrical and Mechanical data acquisition experience
  • Experience working with medium and high voltage systems.
  • Exposure to Industry Standards such as MIL-STD-50G, UL 50E, UL 2231, UL 2202.
  • Exposure to ILAC, or A2LA Laboratory accreditation standards and practices.
  • Strong technical communication skills.
  • Strong technical documentation skills.
  • Test automation experience is nice to have
  • ~20% Domestic and/or International Travel.
  • PCBA Test and/or Validation exposure is nice-to-have.

 

 


Pay Disclosure

Salary range for California Based Applicants: $121,000-$139,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

 

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
