Role Summary

As an Assistant Manager on the Title and Registration team, you will help maintain Rivian culture, along with the Title and Registration Manager, by helping with hiring, training, coaching, and team support. This role requires initiative to drive efficiency and a deep commitment to ensuring a seamless customer experience.  

You will lead a team of Title and Registration Document Generation Specialists and will be responsible for helping identify their key performance indicators and ensuring that those metrics are met. In addition to these direct reports, you will also be responsible for monitoring the broader team’s work to ensure accuracy and assist in providing performance feedback on the Title and Registration Specialists who do not directly report to you. 

You will solve complex problems related to registration and title applications on behalf of Rivian customers and develop processes around better document execution accuracy and compliance. You will serve as a resource for Title and Registration Specialists in need of support, problem solving, and mentorship. You will also work to increase efficiency and support customer-facing employees both at headquarters and in the field. To be successful in this role you will bring a wealth of knowledge of vehicle registrations in 50 states and be a supportive and collaborative team player. 


Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of direct reports responsible for the accurate and timely completion of pre-registration administrative tasks
  • Assist in organizing and prioritizing work for your local team to ensure that performance management goals and SLAs are met 
  • Document processes for internal repository and help develop training resources for use across the broader Title and Registration team  
  • Assist with the onboarding of new team members to ensure consistent standards for title application completion 
  • Provide training and development to associates; develop and promote talent through effective and timely feedback and consistent performance reviews  
  • Audit consumer title and registration applications submitted by your team to verify accuracy as well as compliance with local rules and regulations 
  • Stay up to date with local regulation changes and communicate any necessary process changes   
  • Effectively plan by using reporting and forecasting to set and adjust schedules and pivot resources as needed to meet business demand  
  • Support field and headquarters team members in obtaining needed information and documents from customers    
  • Ensure registration and title applications are submitted to processors in a timely manner 
  • Work with local DMV authorities to solve any outstanding issues preventing registration such as missing documents, signatures, or outstanding balances   
  • Act as regional subject matter expert for states in your assigned region  
  • Support pre-delivery and post-delivery internal inquiries to educate colleagues on requirements and create solutions for problem registrations  
  • Work directly with cross-functional leads to identify strategic improvement opportunities  
  • Interface with external vendors to problem-solve for any holds delaying the processing of customer registrations 

Qualifications

  • 2+ years title and registration experience  
  • 3+ years administrative operations experience  
  • Knowledge of commercial fleet registrations and renewals    
  • Knowledge of Electric Vehicle tax incentives   
  • Expert experience with DealerTrack and RegUSA preferred  
  • Experience with variety of US states DMV procedures and rules   
  • Penchant for building positive working relationships    
  • Experience registering Electric Vehicles advantageous   
  • Must be able to pass criminal & fingerprinting applicable to state regulations & restrictions  
  • Must have a valid driver’s license   
  • Ability to travel up to 30% based on business demands  
  • Ability to stand or sit for 8-10 hours per day  
  • Required to communicate using telephone and/or e-mail  
  • Ability to view, reach, and interpret documents
