Role Summary

The Sr. IT Program Manager is an integral part of the IT Enterprise Manufacturing PMO team and will be responsible for managing cross-functional programs/ projects from end-to-end. This role entails significant leadership and technical proficiency in manufacturing environments with a focus on manufacturing execution systems, software development lifecycle, integration between systems like, MES, PLM, PLC and SAP. Success in this role is providing Project/Program expertise for our MSYS team which mainly focuses on Software Development, Releases and Integration between various teams and systems in a Manufacturing environment. 

 

This role will be located in Normal, IL. 


Responsibilities

  • Detailed Understanding: Deep diving with each of the teams internally and externally to have a full understanding of what each team does, how they operate and be technically proficient. This is so we can anticipate and fully understand requirements when they are given. We rely on our SME's but we need to be technically proficient.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques. Ensuring you are setting goals, tracking deliverables and managing expectations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and third-party vendors. Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Deployment and Integration: Oversee the deployment of software solutions within the manufacturing environment, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the projects. Implement risk management strategies to minimize project risks.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all deliverables meet the required quality standards and comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular project updates to senior management and other stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to project team members, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging professional development.
  • Cross Functional Project Coordination: Come together with different Engineering, Software Development, Process Engineers and SAP teams to develop cross functional project plans, ensuring that everyone is tracking each other's major milestone, alignment cadences and communication when something changes. The goal is to have all team's project plans the same and open communication to catch changes of scope, timeline, risks, etc..
  • Reporting: Provide regular project status updates to the Senior Project Manager and other stakeholders. Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation. Many times your reporting will need to reflect key updates from our cross functional members that our team may need to know.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in management, IT or related field
  • 5+ years of related experience is required 
  • Solid foundation in software engineering principles 
  • Experience in fast paced environment with exposure to end-to-end product deployment — from concept through development and successful launch. 
  • Proficiency in PM/communication tools such as Confluence, Jira, schedules, etc. 
  • Experience in technical program or project management, ideally with multiple delivered projects of medium ($1-25M+) to large sized capital equipment systems
