Working in both pre and post vehicle program for lighting you will be responsible for engineering design, development & integration of the following components on new vehicle programs as a Lighting DE:

Interior lighting components that interface with Cockpit, Door trim, Roof liner, Seats etc.

Exterior Lighting components that interface with BIW, Structures, and exterior components such as Facia, Mirrors, Tail Gate etc..

• Support and Lead on Exterior Lighting and Interior Lighting on Program activities.
• Engineering BoM development. Cost / weight / Timing pack development.
• Part identification in BoM for unique or carryover status
• DFMEA & DVP creation & maintenance
• Design surface feasibility analysis and managing supplier data to ensure they match Studio released Geometry.
• Engineering hard-point generation, together with timing plans in line with the program delivery gateways.
• Participate in cross functional integration reviews for components & systems, considering technical application, form, function & harmonization of the execution, including timing plans.
• Develop scope-of-work documents with key deliverables identified, and work with suppliers to deliver to key program milestones.
• Support the generation / development of design rules & guidelines.
• Work with Design Engineers (DE’s) and ensure the 3D and 2D models are up to date and interface correctly with the surround geometry.

• Degree qualified or similar qualification as a minimum.
• CAD operation skills required – Expectation for engineer to be able to create and manipulate geometry for primary communication of concepts / schemes. (Expectation 50% time utilisation for geometry Review, generation and updates.)
• Catia v5 / v6 operative skills, to be able to demonstrate high technical competence.
• Generation of 3D geometry & sectional data. (Key module utilisation: Part design & Geometric Surface design)
• Engineering experience in delivery of the designated module systems in the automotive sector or similar industries
• Evidence of engineering skills, including ability to manage & resolve engineering issues.
• Compliance with company procedures & quality standards
• Involvement in process improvements
• Highly motivated with good logical reasoning. Strong numeracy & literacy with good organisational & communication skills
• English language is essential, a second language would be advantageous.
• Capable of overcoming cultural & inter-functional barriers
• A desire to strive for improvements to achieve high customer satisfaction.
• Working Knowledge of Speos / Mathlab would be advantageous.

Salary Range for California-Based Applicants: $121,000 - $139,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).
