Role Summary

Professional, effective, and highly capable repair technician with more than 1-2 year of experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing damage on vehicles. Capable of utilizing laptops or desk top computers to perform preventative maintenance activities daily. This position is located at our Normal, IL MFG facility and reports to a Group Leader in End of Line. 


Responsibilities

  • Supports and contributes to Rivian World Class Manufacturing programs and processes and safety
  • Must be able to use lift devices, assembly tools.
  • Contributes to the team in continuous improvement actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee morale.
  • Work with metal, including popping dents and smoothing creases in vehicle bodies and chassis.
  • Ensures safety compliance and follow all rules.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved.
  • Follows written/documented processes, procedures, and activities.
  • Ensure quality and operation systems are implemented and functioning per standards,
  • Meets with team leads regularly to provide and obtain performance feedback. And plans according to team objectives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 year experience with Paint less Dent Repair (PDR) preferred
  • Automotive collision repair experience
  • Ability to repair from dent to final completion all faucets of the process
  • Ability to weld sheet metal
  • Ability to Mend damaged body and fenders by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts; ensure all gaps and fits are to industry standards
  • Experienced in using push bars and glue tabs to eliminate dents and other deformation defects on the vehicle body while maintaining the original paintwork
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g. welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.)
  • Prepare car to be painted by sanding and refinishing them
  • Ability to take from metal damage to full 100% completion read to ship to customer
  • Knowledge of manufacturer's repair process 
  • Repair, replace and upgrade a variety of vehicle parts 
  • Preform final inspection checks to ensure that all issues have been detected and resolved before returning vehicle to customer
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours a day 
  • Able to lift 25-50 lbs
