Role Summary

This position will perform a support role to the Yard Operations Planning Manager and will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of system accuracy for the shift’s Yard Operations team.  The Yard Ops Analyst will be looked to as the on-site subject-matter expert on all items related to the YMS and TMS systems, scanner functionality, reports, dashboards, etc.  They will also collaborate with other shift admins as well as Outbound Logistics’ Software Support Analyst on OTA’s and other software-related items on Rivian vehicles. Your primary duties will include identifying trends and issues, developing and implementing logistics strategies, supporting shift group leader, and collaborating with other departments to ensure that logistics operations are aligned with business goals. We are looking for an independent self-starter who can excel through operational excellence, servant leadership, continuous improvement, and a detail-oriented work style.


Responsibilities

  • Assure daily performance numbers are gathered and are an accurate depiction of the team’s work performance.
  • On call support to yard team to investigate and correct any delivery blockers
  • Support shift leader in monitoring KPI’s by coaching staff on compliance to operations SOP’s
  • Produce performance reports on an as – needed basis for operations leadership
  • Identify and correct any system blockers to delivery daily
  • Be the subject-matter expert on YMS and TMS functionality and be the primary POC when communicating with IT support on these 2 systems.
  • Represent shift leadership in meetings when manager or lead aren’t available
  • Assist with yard capacity analysis, and identify and execute alternative plans for capacity shortfalls
  • Review system discrepancies daily and correct to maintain accurate records.
  • Coordinate necessary repairs with service and factory teams to streamline delivery
  • Facilitate the processing of damaged units or other units requiring special attention by arranging transportation in OTM
  • Provide guidance and technical support to team members on an ongoing basis regarding changing work procedures, safety precautions, etc.
  • Work in other Outbound Logistics roles as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and one year experience or equivalent experience in supply chain, computer science -related or business administration-related fields in lieu of degree
  • Ability to stand, walk and work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Familiar with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Inventory Control systems
  • Hands-on experience working with SAP, Transportation Management System (TMS), and/or yard management systems preferred
  • Fundamental knowledge of EOL / PDI processes is preferred.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously (prioritization methodology)
  • Must be able to work nights/weekends
  • Minimum age of 21
  • No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License (within a 3-5 year period)
  • No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years
  • No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years
  • Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle
  • Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring
