About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

As the Manager of Analysis Team part of Product Excellence you will lead a team of highly skilled technicians and specialists conducting root cause analysis and validation of quality issues identified in various tests, sensors and processes in the production facility and in the field.  You will be working in a dynamic environment with a large amount of freedom to make the decisions needed to keep the team and equipment running smoothly, but this will require flexibility and adaptability.  As such, you will be a self-starter with high initiative, problem-solving ability, an intense interest in and desire to learn, and a passion for building high-quality premium electric vehicles.  You will have several years’ experience as a proven leader of cross-functional teams in an automotive or similar production environment, working across all vehicle systems and areas.  Additionally, you will bring experience working in analysis, problem solving, automotive manufacturing and/or product development.  You will interface with various teams throughout the plant, including Product Audit, Design Engineering, End-of-Line, Production, Product Development, Test & Development and Vehicle Attributes Teams.  As the Analysis Team supports both Launch and Series Production, you will be dealing with activities on both prototype and production vehicles across all product lines (consumer, commercial and fleet).  You will be responsible for planning and overseeing the daily activities of the team while also managing the equipment and processes used for the root-cause analyses.

Your responsibilities will also include maintaining and evolving dashboards to track and report on KPIs showing the activities and performance of the Analysis Team.   Ongoing strategic development of the team and the area, including alignment and coordination with other testing sites, will be needed to ensure that Rivian maintains its competitive edge in rapid root-causing and problem solving.  Your duties will include tracking and monitoring multiple projects and issues simultaneously, using available resources to support problem analysis, robust root cause determination and verification of measure effectiveness.   You will be supporting optimized utilization of the existing equipment (including development of test profiles and fixtures, overseeing maintenance plans, training, upgrades, etc.), identifying needs for additional resources should these be needed, and reporting out to leadership on any issues identified requiring Restrictive Action (e.g. Issue Reporting, Quality Alerts, Quality Holds, Blocks or Yard Campaigns).  You will be responsible for keeping the relevant dashboards and KanBan boards up to date and supporting Rivian Operating System (RiOS) initiatives and activities in your area.  You will have direct supervisory responsibility over the team of technicians in the Analysis Area, including scheduling, Shift Model determination, Time-Management responsibility and, in collaboration with your leadership, promotion and disciplinary actions where needed.
