Role Summary

The Director, Labor Relations is part of the Company’s global Labor & Employment Legal Team and will serve as a strategic partner to Rivian’s People Team and other key stakeholders, providing support and guidance on a variety of labor relations matters to promote a positive employee experience and ensure legal compliance. This role will report to the Head of Labor & Employment and collaborate with other senior leaders across the organization.


Responsibilities

This is what you’ll do:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all labor relations matters, including union organizing drives, union campaigns, petitions, collective bargaining, mediation, arbitration and administrative charges
  • Provide day-to-day advice to legal, human resources, and business teams on abroad range of labor matters, including issue spotting, strategy, planning, compliance, and project execution
  • Monitor employee climate to identify workforce opportunities and trends, and recommend proactive solutions based on business needs and best practices
  • Develop and implement labor relations strategies and programs that support the company’s business objectives
  • Work in collaboration with the People Team on the development, administration, interpretation and application of labor and employment policies and programs
  • Monitor and analyze labor relations trends and provide strategic guidance on labor-specific issues to senior leadership
  • Work closely with business leaders to proactively respond to shifting business needs and associated labor implications
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations
  • Conduct training for management and relevant stakeholders on labor relations topics
  • Cultivate a culture of collaboration, learning, and ongoing improvement within a cross-functional team

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range: $150,000-200,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
