Role Summary

We are looking for a Principal, HR Business Partner to provide strategic partnership to our corporate Finance and Facilities teams. This role will partner with our CFO and Finance and Facilities leadership teams to optimize and operationalize our talent strategy, in support of organizational effectiveness and building high-performing teams. Our Finance and Facilities teams help create the processes, structures, and spaces that enable a culture of excellence across our organization as we seek to bring the most advanced and innovative products to life.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to determine the right organizational structure, skills and capabilities required to deliver against the strategy
  • Develop a deep understanding of our business and people as you proactively deliver talent insights and help leaders see around corners
  • Drive talent assessment​s and action planning to accelerate employee development and team effectiveness
  • Provide leadership coaching and feedback​
  • Foster a culture of belonging at the individual and collective level
  • Drive functional talent strategy (attrition, retention, succession planning)
  • Use data analytics to provide critical talent insights at the functional level
  • Effectively lead talent programs (annual compensation, promotions cycles, etc.)
  • Organizational hiring support​
  • Employee relations - consultation, coaching, performance​ management
  • Ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives within People team for continuous improvement to our HR programs and service model

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Business Partner and/or HR leadership experience with 4+ years support of executive or C-suite leadership
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field; HR certification or advanced degree preferred
  • Unquestioned, unwavering integrity

  • Demonstrated courage speaking to leadership blind spots and presenting alternate/opposing views & ideas
  • A strong coach and mentor who gets personal fulfillment by contributing to the success of others

  • Impeccable judgment and ability to balance the needs of the company, managers, and employees
  • Experience dealing with employment law principles and advising on employment matters
  • Experienced in facilitating change management within a rapid and complex work environment
  • Ability to compile information and analyze data to drive decision making
  • Capable of repeated context shifting without losing sight of strategic priorities
  • Consistently bring an optimistic, energetic, and solution-oriented approach
  • Exceptional communicator (written and verbal) with clear, concise, and courageous style
  • Accustomed to rolling up your sleeves to do whatever needs to be done

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for Palo Alto, CA based applicants: $218,800 - $340,675 (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).


Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
