Role Summary

Rivian’s Commercial Finance Team is comprised of Finance and Accounting functions. The functions work in parallel to support the Commercial Business in business development, strategic decisions, forecasting/budgets, and reporting. The Commercial Finance Team supports the following goods and services: Vehicles, Accessories, Retail, Charging, and Vehicle Services. The Commercial Finance Team’s structure offers unique opportunities to work in Finance and Accounting capacities. The Manager, Commercial role will operate within the Accounting Function on the Vehicle Service Team and will additionally have financial responsibilities.


Responsibilities

  • Support month-end close process, complete timely reporting in line with Corporate Accounting policies and guidelines.
  • Support system and process developments and transformation.
  • Develop automation routines to efficiently capture, monitor, and account for service financial activity.
  • Develop comprehensive financial reporting of service activity.
  • Execute on ad-hoc analyses to support leadership decisions; transform data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Assists with external audit by providing information for auditors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Master’s/CPA a plus)
  • 3+ years of related corporate or public accounting experience
  • 3+ years of experience with data analysis tools (Databricks, Alteryx, etc.), data visualization tools (Tableau and Power BI), and programming languages (SQL, Python, etc.)
  • Proven analytical skills, ability to research issues in a complex accounting structure to resolve problems; meticulous, yet able to identify issues and grasp concepts at broader level.
  • Must be an initiative-taking individual with the ability to multi-task within large datasets and work autonomously.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including when involving cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work within defined time constraints and within deadlines during month end financial close, while driving longer-term projects to successful completion.
