Job Description

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Responsibilities

  • Join a lean, disciplined, high-responsibility corporate communications team to help execute our media strategies to ensure our stories are told in the right place and secure consistent inspiring media coverage about Rivian, its business, its people and its growth.
  • Help support the external corporate communications team across a range of projects and initiatives.
  • Rivian is a brand with no shortage of stories to tell-- we are looking for someone whose finger is on the pulse of the news cycle and is willing to immerse themselves in the world of EVs, understand what makes a compelling pitch and can craft clear narratives that interpret our company effectively for the corporate media.
  • Keep the communications team organized through insightful project management techniques.
  • Help the team collate media lists and manage media inquiries, as well as internal speaking requests.
  • Work independently and with a team to solve problems, create and implement processes, and provide input on next steps for supporting various teams around Rivian.
  • Help determine the appropriate audiences, communication vehicles and cascading of messaging.
  • Support the planning and execution of PR campaigns, events and initiatives.
  • Provide regular status report of communication activities and recommend any additional actions that are required for a success of a pitch/project/program.
  • Engage your storytelling skills to thread together the broader Rivian narrative.
  • Manage editorial calendar and content, balancing input from key stakeholders across a range of departments and geographies.
  • This is a significant role for someone who is ambitious with potential career growth in the future.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of communications experience, ideally in corporate communications.
  • Experience either in a PR agency or in-house.
  • Strong team-oriented mindset, able to embrace flexible work across time zones and collaborate to get the work done.
  • The capacity to thrive in dynamic environments, while being flexible, collaborative and reliable.
  • Experience in project management and event execution, with the ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills: you are known for crossing T’s and dotting I’s.
  • You’ve told stories through a variety of mediums: whether they’re in-person events, virtual settings, or in writing.
  • Ability to consider the bigger picture and possess the willingness to get into the specifics when needed.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to travel, when needed, across the country, or specifically to Normal, IL where our factory is.
  • You are a passionate collaborator and love building cross-functional relationships.
