Job Description

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Responsibilities

  • Join a lean, disciplined, high-responsibility corporate communications team to help execute our media strategies in the sustainability and policy spaces.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion.
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple teams across the company to acquire information, build roadmaps, and maintain schedules.
  • Develop and implement new tools and processes to streamline work across the communications team.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic calendar to encourage thematic and campaign-based approaches to storytelling.
  • Use professional insight to recommend new ways to solve problems and recommend improvements.
  • Support the planning and execution of PR campaigns, events, and initiatives.
  • Provide regular status reports of activities and recommend any additional actions that are required for the success of a pitch/project/program.
  • Support development of narrative arcs and storytelling strategies with communications leaders.
  • Work with communications managers to maintain editorial calendar and integrate project timelines therein.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of communications experience, ideally in corporate communications.
  • Confidence and ability to take full ownership of project workstreams and hold other stakeholders accountable.
  • Ability to work with leaders in the company to tackle complex challenges and opportunities.
  • Project management experience.
  • Comfort taking ownership of multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong team-oriented mindset, able to embrace flexible work across time zones and collaborate to get the work done.
  • The capacity to thrive in dynamic environments, while being flexible, collaborative, and reliable.
  • Experience in event planning and execution, with the ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organization and adherence to deadlines; you are the glue holding the team accountable.
  • Ability to think holistically and integrate thematic insight into individual projects.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to travel, when needed, across the country, or specifically to Normal, IL where our factory is.
  • Strong appetite for cross-functional relationships and management thereof.
  • Super organized: you have checklists for your checklists and can think 10 steps ahead.
