Role Summary
In this role, you will develop the test automation software for Rivian's EPC embedded software, and support Software-in-Loop development.
Responsibilities
- Whole life cycle of test automation platform development: Your responsibilities include architecting, design, implementation, deployment and continuous improvement of the scalable and robust test automation platforms that support efficient and comprehensive testing across various EPC software.
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and reliable deployment of automated tests in different environments.
- Automating Requirements-Based Testing: Implement the pipelines for requirements traceability, test coverage analysis, exporting and reporting and automating regression tests.
- Tool and Technology Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of testing process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, QA test engineers, and system architects, to understand testing requirements and integrate the automation platform seamlessly into the development pipeline. Effectively communicate with stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and aligning the team with organizational goals.
- Problem Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges and provide strategic solutions to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the testing automation platform.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for the testing automation platform, including design specifications, guidelines, and procedures.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in software development and testing, with a focus on test automation and/or CI/CD pipelines
- Previous automotive experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in test automation development (e.g., Python, C#, Java).
- In-depth knowledge of test automation tools, frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with various teams, including software developers, QA engineers, and system architects.
