Role Summary

The Infotainment Camera Imaging and Computer Vision team delivers imaging technology and features underlying Rivian’s adventure user experiences and services. This multi-disciplinary team brings expertise in cameras, algorithms, performance software on state-of-the art computer platforms, and validation to the actual product. As a Computer Vision Engineer, you will have a unique opportunity to research and develop computer vision, deep learning and image/video enhancement algorithms for vehicle security and driver assistance. You will also expand your horizons to collaborate with other domain experts to bring our innovations from concept to product.


Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop and optimize computer vision algorithms using either geometric or deep learning techniques.
  • Prototype algorithms on PC and embedded platforms with constrained compute and memory resources.
  • Collaborate with software and system engineers to prototype systems on test vehicles employing algorithm IP.
  • Evaluate the performance of algorithms/neural networks in simulation, testbenches and in actual field testing.

Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years algorithm development experience in one or more of image processing, computer vision, perception
  • Solid understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and neural network architectures
  • Experience programming in C++, Python, or related languages.
  • Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV.
  • Proficiency in using image processing, computer vision, and deep learning toolkits.
  • Passionately motivated to take ideas from R&D phase to a product.
  • Good written communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with deep learning model deployment on edge devices.
  • Experience with computer vision systems for automotive, robotics or mobile devices.
  • Strong ability in problem solving and driving for results.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
