Role Summary
The Visual Identity Design team, which is nested within the Rivian Marketing team, is looking for a Lead Graphic & Motion Designer that has a strong emphasis in branding where they can shape and create strong visual identities as well as bring them to life through motion graphics. We are looking for a strong creative that can develop and bring the brand’s expressions to life across physical spaces and digital experiences. This design role is nested within the Brand Experience team. Cross-functional collaborators include but are not limited to: Marketing, Communications, Digital Design, Product Design, Retail Development, Operations, Facilities, and various Suppliers.
Responsibilities
• End-to-end designer: Strong conceptual visualization skills, paired with ability to execute on technical production.
• Work with animation, audio, and visual effects to create engaging dynamic content for various media applications.
• Work in partnership with our design and product teams. Become an expert in our products—you’ll take complex product knowledge and translate it into clear, approachable consumer interactions.
• Drive cohesion and articulation of our unified brand voice, while balancing user experience, business goals and strategy for a variety of experiences.
• Work within and continue to help expand our graphic language while maintaining a consistent voice throughout our Rivian Identity ecosystem.
• Support concepting and design for digital ads and graphics across social platforms, web, email, and instore applications.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of this position.
Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience designing for brands and digital products.
• A track record of creative work that not only meets the brief but elevates the experience.
• Strong presentation skills and excels at building consensus to help bring a vision to life.
• Skilled in not only managing your own work, but champions a holistic design team voice.
• Familiarity with using research to define strategy, test experience approaches and iterate on work.
• Ability to pick things up quickly, manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting timelines and priorities.
• You get satisfaction in shaping experiences through the power of strong design concepts brought to life in multimedia.
• Enjoy creating an amazing 360-degree campaign just as much as expanding our Brand Guidelines and Standards.
• You think big picture and sweat the details.
• You’re collaborative and enjoy solving problems.
• You’re not afraid to ask why. A lot.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and a willingness to pivot as needed.
• Resourceful, proactive, and can work independently and in a team environment under tight deadlines.
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $112,100 to $140,100 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
