About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing financial processes for complex business units and will excel in a demanding, fast-paced environment. This role is instrumental in driving process improvements and fostering strategic partnerships with the People, Finance, Legal, and Sustainability teams.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with C-level leaders responsible for company-wide G&A functions (People, Finance, Legal, and Sustainability) to align financial strategies with business objectives. Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO and senior leadership team on financial matters related to G&A functions.
  • Transformation Analysis: Support G&A functions in assessing and developing investment cases for large-scale transformation initiatives, encompassing process optimization, application enhancements, and workforce planning.
  • Process Optimization & Data-Driven Decision Making: Direct the team to leverage data analytics to identify, prioritize, implement, and measure process improvements that strengthen controls, drive standardization, and facilitate scalable growth.
  • Financial Management & Controls: Design, implement, and oversee robust accounting and financial processes to support all G&A operational areas.
  • Risk & Opportunity Assessment: Provide strategic counsel to leadership on key risks and opportunities impacting financial performance, delivering actionable insights to enhance decision-making and accountability.
  • Performance Reporting: Develop and deliver comprehensive financial reports for senior leadership, including key performance metrics, budget-to-actual variance analysis, and forecast variances, to drive transparency and efficiency.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in Finance or a related field, with a proven track record of managing financial processes for complex business units.

  • Strategic Partnership: Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives and senior leadership, serving as a trusted advisor on financial matters.
  • Project Management: Experience managing large, cross-functional projects, including risk assessment and control of payables/receivables operations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Direct experience with SAP or equivalent ERP platform data infrastructures and multidimensional EPM tools (e.g., Hyperion Essbase, Anaplan, Adaptive).
  • Data Analysis & Decision Making: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data analytics to drive process improvements and informed decision-making.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and prioritization skills, reflecting the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
