Role Summary

The Quality Manager position will lead all aspects of quality in the Parts Distribution Centers (PDC) to support the Service Center Network and Direct Ship to Customer Products. Working in this position, your job on a day-to-day will be to process and analyze quality claims and with developing quality control processes. Monitor and analyze data to identify trends along with making recommendations for improvements. Lead and manage a team of quality coordinators, providing guidance, coaching and support. Communicate with other teams, like PDC operations team, Continuous Improvement / program managers to ensure that quality processes are aligned with business objectives. Performing audits of quality control processes to identify areas of improvement and making recommendations along with corrective actions. Manage and maintain quality control documentation for the network. Train team members on quality control processes, procedures, and policies to ensure to have the correct knowledge and skills to preform jobs correctly. Make sure quality control processes and procedures are integrated into new processes being developed by the pdcs.


Responsibilities

  • PDC quality review process
    • Managing quality claims project in Jira for Rivian service parts
    • Review & analyze all incoming quality claims in Jira
    • Coordinate and execute root cause analysis
    • Analyze quality data and identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Managing timely closure of tickets
  • Oversee the entire quality review process, from initial inspection to final resolution.
  • Team leadership
    • Manage and mentor a team of quality coordinators located at various US parts distribution centers.
    • Managing daily/weekly/monthly Auditing process with the QC team
    • Align with SQE support with part inspections and disposition
  • Reporting
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Develop and create reports for highest damaged parts

The role is based at Rivian’s newest Parts Distribution center in Sacramento, during the launch you will be the ambassador for quality & continuous improvement in this facility.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, preferably in the automotive industry or logistics.
  • Willingness to process quality claims for review in combination with managing a team of quality coordinators
  • Experience using Jira or similar tools is preferred, understanding of business domains like Logistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Service
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Experience with SAP EWM or a similar system is preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • experience managing a remote team
  • Concise verbal and written communication
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20%
  • Must be able to stand or sit 8 hours a day depending on daily job needs
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs
