Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Accounting Manager to lead our Corporate Accounting team. This individual will oversee key accounting functions including monthly close processes, SOX compliance, and GAAP reporting. This role plays a critical part in upholding financial accuracy and operational efficiency while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in a fast-paced, publicly traded environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Corporate Accounting Team: Manage team performance and development while fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
  • Own the Month-End Close: Oversee month-end activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement reviews.
  • Ensure SOX Compliance: Uphold compliance with SOX regulations, GAAP, and internal control frameworks.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as SME for key accounting areas such as cash, debt, investments, prepaid expenses, legal/insurance accruals, and purchase card transactions.
  • Collaborate Across Functions: Work closely with Treasury, SOX, AP/AR, IT, and others to support accurate reporting and smooth operations.
  • Support Audits: Manage requests from internal and external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Lead Process Improvements: Identify and implement accounting best practices to drive efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • CPA required.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or industry.
  • Proven experience with SOX compliance and public company reporting.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Adaptability to change in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing and developing a team.
  • Background in the manufacturing or automotive industry.
