Role Summary

Labor Relations Specialists analyze, interpret, understand and administer labor-related initiatives. In addition, labor relations specialists establish and improve processes, systems, practices that impact the employee experience in the workplace. They measure employee satisfaction, resolve workplace issues, and assist in setting corrective action/disciplinary procedures. This role works directly with the Labor Manager and key stakholders.


Labor Relations Specialists take responsibility for resolving employee-related problems. They often serve as the go-between, voice of compromise, and knowledgeable negotiator in these scenarios. Labor relations specialists leverage their knowledge of policies, processes, practices, and human resources to support the business.


Responsibilities

  • Engage critical thinking, and decision-making as to relevant findings of any illegal or inappropriate activities with respect to state or federal laws, regulations and/or company policies
  • Prepare concise documents outlining problem/conflict resolution and root cause analysis opportunities in the labor relation work stream
  • Perform data analytical work including creating customized reports for partners and stakeholders that identifies trends and opportunities
  • Foster innovation and work collaboratively to ensure best practice investigative techniques and protocols
  • Apply knowledge of policies, practices, laws and regulations to collaborate with internal business partners to help establish, maintain and improve the working culture and environment
  • Serve as liaison among to all stakeholders in the labor related issues and initiatives to establish awareness and alignment
  • Communicate clearly and effectively
  • Provide status updates on basic/intermediate labor related issues to leadership
  • Stay current on relevant labor laws and initiatives
  • Trains the Workforce: Understand the need of the organization, develop, administer, and facilitate training (collaborate with L&D).
  • Assist employees, managers, and leaders resolve issues through fact-finding, alternative approaches, and due process.
  • Manages employee concerns/grievances: Coordinate employee concern/grievance procedures and investigate complaints.
  • Create and maintain policies and procedures that govern the employee-employer relationship.
  • Advise managers on labor relations best practices
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • 1 to 2+ years of employee relations/human resources experience
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with managers on problem/conflict resolution, root cause analysis, disciplinary, and termination issues
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated agility in standard and non-standard work-related scenarios
  • A commitment to teamwork, collaboration and professionalism
  • Ability to travel, as required

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for Normal,IL based applicants: $89,000 - $112,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).


Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
