Role Summary

This Technical Program Manager (TPM) will be a critical force multiplier, enabling the successful, on-time delivery and strategic evolution of Rivian's core Enterprise Technology (ET) initiatives, vital for both current operations and future scale-up. This role demands a strong technical background to understand complex engineering challenges and a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary projects from conception to launch. As a Technical Program Manager, you will join the Global Financial Systems within the Enterprise Technology organization. You will be supporting end-to-end projects using agile methods which also includes capacity planning, tracking, running planning sessions, prioritizing, communicating & managing business stakeholders as well as coordinating with cross functional teams. This position will report to our Senior Manager, Financial Systems and will be located in Atlanta.


Responsibilities

  • Scrum Master:
    • Facilitate all scrum events such as sprint planning, daily standups, sprint review, sprint retro, etc. and suggest improvements
    • Coach and educate the team on agile principles and scrum practices
    • Identify and remove blockers that prevent the team from making progress
    • Ensure clarity and visibility of of backlog items and Facilitate communication between the product manager and development team
    • Facilitate high quality decisions and deliverables timely and Drive Change Review meetings with stakeholders.
  • Program Planning & Execution:
    • Develop and manage comprehensive program plans for key ET initiatives, spanning current operational enhancements and future enterprise-wide implementations.
    • Define detailed program requirements and manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with lean strategies and system integrations.
    • Directly own and manage the coordination of these programs. Orchestrate complex integrations and automation efforts required for critical ET programs, particularly cross-functional collaboration across the supply chain functions.
    • Drive the development and adoption of new enterprise platforms where they intersect with core business processes.
    • Support teams of highly functional experts and motivated engineers to effectively deliver organizational goals.
  • Risk Management & Mitigation:
    • Proactively identify potential risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies within the cross functional ET programs.
    • Develop and implement robust mitigation strategies to address identified risks, ensuring continuity and preventing delays
    • Ensure communication and proactive addressing of risks to prevent impact on product quality and road-mapping.
    • Evaluate and adjust priorities as issues arise.
  • Schedule Management & Timely Delivery:
    • Track program/scrum progress, dependencies, and identify issues closely while communicating effectively to leadership and stakeholders and work with them to mitigate risks.
    • Create, maintain, and rigorously track milestones & detailed project schedules for all ET initiative phases.
    • Monitor progress against milestones, ensuring timely delivery of aligned applications and successful implementation of foundational enterprise capabilities.
    • Lead multiple projects simultaneously by effectively managing prioritization of time, resource and scope.
  • Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination:
    • Serve as the primary orchestrator of cross-functional collaboration for ET initiatives, ensuring seamless communication and alignment across engineering, product, supply chain, and other relevant teams.
    • Communicate program status, risks, and technical trade-offs effectively to stakeholders, including executives and various engineering disciplines.
    • Facilitate efficient decision-making and problem resolution to maintain program velocity.
  • Technical Expertise & Problem Solving:
    • Leverage a strong technical background to understand and contribute to solving challenging engineering problems within the ET domains.
    • Contribute to the product development process by understanding technical challenges and ensuring alignment between technical solutions and business objectives.
    • Champion a product-led approach to system development and value delivery.
    • Break down large concepts into realizable deliverables and work with team members to distribute tasks and execute against the plan.

Qualifications

  • At least 5+ years of project management experience with a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Superior stakeholder management and organizational skills
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • 5+ yrs. of experience as a scrum master, should be a certified SCRUM master.
  • 5+yrs. of ERP experience is a must.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/scrum methodologies and related tools
  • Demonstrated ability to keep things moving and see the big picture.
  • Experience in rapidly growing businesses that have expanded globally.
  • Experience in cross functional collaboration and taking products from concept to market.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, ambiguity, and time constraints.
  • Ability to define major aspects of schedule and determine critical path.
  • A genuine love of brands that are focused on positive impact.
  • Background in automotive, energy, or similar technical industry
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with SAP system and experience leading software teams (nice to have)

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range - USD - $140,600 - $175,800 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).


Benefits Summary:
Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
