Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.
As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.
Role Summary
Rivian’s Basecamp organization in Belgrade includes a small, full-stack team focused on application development and infrastructure for supply chain processes. The group today has two engineers, with a third hire in progress. You will work on real products end to end—close collaboration, direct feedback, and exposure to how features move from design to production.
A key focus for this internship is contributing to migrating a specific project from an event-driven architecture toward a microservices architecture: defining service boundaries, implementing services and integrations, and gradually replacing the legacy event-centric model with well-defined APIs and independently deployable services.
Technologies in use: React, TypeScript, Python, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, and Terraform. Task allocation can align with your strengths (e.g. more frontend vs. backend/infrastructure), within team priorities and mentoring.
Day-to-day development uses Cursor so you can practice AI-assisted workflows (prompting, refactoring, reviewing diffs), as a complement to strong fundamentals in architecture and maintainable code, not a substitute for them.
Responsibilities
Contribute to service design and implementation as part of the event-driven → microservices migration (APIs, integrations, deployment boundaries).
Build and extend full-stack features (UI and backend) used in supply chain workflows.
Collaborate with product and peers on clear interfaces between services and legacy components.
Write automated tests (unit/integration) for the code you ship; participate in code reviews.
Join stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, and mentoring as part of the Belgrade engineering team.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at an accredited university.
Graduation date between 2026–2027.
Actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
Work authorization in Serbia.
Pay Disclosure
We offer a competitive compensation package, with details to be discussed during the interview process.
