About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

The Launchpad team's mission is to ensure we meet our engineering, manufacturing and supply chain needs with the end customer in mind. We achieve that mission through building a suite of applications that integrate our platforms together. As a Software Developer intern, you’ll contribute to developing and improving software used daily by our production teams. Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, working with technologies like Python/Flask/FastAPI and/or Typescript/React. Ideal candidates have a passion for software development and a desire to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including QA, technical product management and UI/UX design teams.

  • Contribute to delivery of our services end-to-end, addressing scalability, performance, high availability, maintainability, and observability.

  • Foster modern DevOps processes within and outside the team to enhance site reliability and high availability.

  • Follow best software architecture practices.

  • Use automation as an opportunity to reduce roadblocks and achieve deliverables.

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of distributed systems, microservices, and APIs.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent

  • Graduation date between 2026-2027

  • Familiar with cloud technologies such as S3, SQS, CloudWatch, …

  • Familiar with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, such as Postgres, MySQL or MongoDB

  • Understanding of CI/CD principles

  • Understanding of Agile Development, SCRUM or a similar software development life cycle process.
