Role Summary
Rivian is looking for a Technician, Factory Software & Diagnostics Engineer to diagnose/repair our vehicles in Normal, IL. As a Technician, Factory Software & Diagnostics Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work hands-on with the Rivian vehicles in one of the fastest growing industries in the country and make a true impact on growing the Electric Vehicle Industry. The opening will be located in the Normal, IL facility and reports directly to Group Leader Factory Software & Diagnostics Engineering Technician.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose Challenging Issues – You will diagnose a wide variety of software related issues across all vehicle systems to determine root cause in a thorough and methodical manner.
- Implement New Software Processes & Tests: You will help develop, execute, and train team members across manufacturing on software processes and testing.
- Improve our Product – You will carefully document all findings and share across manufacturing and engineering teams to support the implementation of countermeasures as needed.
- LV Repairs such as missed connections/ softsets/ Misrouted harnesses/ damaged wiring throughout GA
- Collaborative Problem Solving– You will work closely and collaborate with all relevant Electrical, Manufacturing, and Software teams across the company to drive solutions.
- Keep tracking the failures detected and repair in the GA stations.
- Collaborate with different team to solve critical issues in GA
Qualifications
- Technical/ vocational degree, or equivalent experience.
- LV Rivian Certification
- Two year Technical/ vocational degree, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years diagnosing a wide variety of software issues on vehicles or comparable complexity systems. (preferred)
- Experience in using software tools, electrical systems, CAN and LIN communication to review data and execute commands.
- Electric/hybrid vehicle experience preferred.
- Ability to thrive in fast paced and ambiguous environments.
- Strong collaborative attitude and team player that supports the firmware engineers with diagnosing issues, software rollouts and production support.
- Self-motivated and self-sufficient starter.
- Demonstrated strong creative thinking and problem-solving toolbox.
- Ability to support the production line during the day and on weekends.
Pay Disclosure
Hourly Range for Illinois Based Applicants: The hourly range for this role is $28.00 per hour for Illinois based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus.
