About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to help us maintain accurate financial records and ensure the integrity of our day-to-day accounting operations. This role will report directly to the Head of Finance and will work cross-functionally with departments including Operations, HR, and Engineering. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, reconciliations, and supporting compliance activities such as audits and tax filings.
This is a hybrid position. Candidates must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area and are required to work from the office at least two days per week, specifically on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Team members are also encouraged to make additional use of the office on other days throughout the week, based on their preference.

What you'll do
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including the general ledger and supporting documentation.
- Record daily financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including follow-ups to reduce aging balances.
- Generate and send customer invoices and support timely payment through regular client communication.
- Process incoming payments in line with financial policies and procedures.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit accounts, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Monitor customer accounts for delayed payments or irregularities.
- Assist with audits and tax filings by preparing requested documentation and reports.
- Partner with HR to process payroll in Rippling for employees, contractors, and consultants.
- Maintain accurate records of client contracts and financial agreements.
- Assist with financial reporting and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Support budget tracking and variance analysis in coordination with department leads and Head of Finance.
- Maintain and update the business data room and document repository.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in a software or tech startup environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and audit preparation.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Google Sheets, MS Excel, and other financial tools.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
