Shift EV is a fast-growing electric vehicle technology company based in Cairo, Egypt. Our vision is to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in Egypt and the region by developing state-of-the-art electric drivetrain solutions. You will work with world-class technology veterans from MIT, the University of Grenoble, Intel, and Corning to build a venture with transformative potential.

What we’re looking for:

Automotive Mechanical Designer who has strong knowledge in design structure fixation and hands-on experience in mechanical power systems like cooling, heating, hydraulics, A/C, pneumatic,...etc.).

YOU'LL HAVE OWNERSHIP OVER:

  • Designing structural elements, housings and fixations for elements in electric vehicles (motors, controller, steering, ...etc.).

  • Selecting and integrating mechanical systems components like (Oil Pumps, Compressors, Vacuum Pumps,…etc.).

  • Verifying that your designs satisfy product requirements.

  • Perform static, dynamic, CFD and thermal analysis as well as modeling of impact dynamics on design parts.

  • Create Bills-of-Materials for release.

  • Collaborating closely with the team for prototyping and testing your systems and making adjustments as needed from initial research and proof of concept to development of the final product version.

  • Address inadequate product performance if necessary.

  • 2D&3D drawing using SolidWorks & AutoCAD.

You are:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

  • A mechanical engineer with 2-5 years of experience, preferably an automotive background.

  • Hands-on experience in cooling systems, hydraulic systems & refrigeration.

  • Familiar with design for manufacturing (DFM) and different manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, …etc.

  • Strong knowledge of design softwares (Solidworks, AutoCAD and Ansys).

  • Experience in using PDM or ERP design systems.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects while tracking own responsibilities.

  • A self-initiator who is naturally energized by new ideas and insights from others, able to prioritize projects, communicate progress, and deliver on time.
